Britain clobbered by more money to IMF

SOFT-touch Britain was clobbered with a £28billion demand to save the crumbling euro last night.

The unwelcome cash call could now land every family in the UK with a whopping £2,500 bill.

Desperate officials at the International Monetary Fund want to fatten up their global bailout fund to $1trillion to prepare for another financial meltdown.

The extra cash will leave Brits lumbered with a total bill of £65bn.

Matthew Sinclair, director of the TaxPayers’ Alliance, said: “While hard-pressed families struggle at home they will wonder why they are cutting back only to see more of their cash sent overseas, particularly with the European Union budget rising as well.”

Tory MP Peter Bone said upping our contribution would see PM David Cameron facing a rebellion.

He said: “My view, and I think of a number of other Conservative MPs, is that enough is enough.”

Ukip leader Nigel Farage said: “Hard-working taxpayers will not wear their money being committed to the IMF like this whilst they are expected to endure austerity at home.”
